The Conjuring (2013)

The first Horror movie I'm going to watch this Year. The conjuring, directed by James Wan is said to be "based on true story" for which is, I don't really know if it really is. This movie, even though it is not yet showing in my country, I've already been hearing rumors, side comments and spoilers. I even heard that I'm one cinema here in Manila, after watching the movie, a girl became "possessed" inside the cinema! Hehe...such an effective way of Advertising a movie.

At the first 30 minutes i was like, "Guys, calm down, you're all being exaggerated." But when the Maid scene came out, HOLY SHIT I swear it creeped the shit out me.

Overall. The movie is--wait, Overall already? No plot? Well, anyways, Overall, the movie is HORRIBLE! in a sense it will make you scream, close your eyes, makes your heart pound and makes you go pee.

Pacific Rim (2013)

If you're into big stuff and Gundam, this is the movie for you! Pacific Rim, directed by Guillermo del Torro is a movie that took place in a post-apocalyptic world where human race is being threatened by the Aliens by sending dinosaur sized aliens to do the genocide, BUT will the humans just sit like a duck seeing their race grow extinct? No, so they build this huge, cool looking Robots to exterminate these aliens and there the story of Pacific Rim is made...

Plot. The story is awesome I liked it. Something new in the eyes....oh wait what about Transformers? Hmm I have to say, comparing both movies, this time I'll go with Pacific Rim, MAN! Just look how detailed and realistic the movements of the Jaegers, and the graphics! Its as close to reality! And hey, I'm not downgrading Transformers okay? I just can't help to compare because both features Huge Robots, okay?

Monsters University & Despicable Me 2 (2013)

A prequel to the movie, Monster Inc., on a look at the relationship between Mike and Sulley during their early days at the Monsters University where they weren't necessarily best of friends.

Despicable Me 2 is the sequel of  the same title where this time, Gru, as an ex villain, recruited by the Anti-Villain League to help deal with a new Super Criminal.

Actually, this is the first time I'm posting 2 movie review in one Post. Well, this will do anyways, plus to save time and I quite forgot some parts of the movies na eh haha.

MONSTERS UNIVERSITY is a such a great film. From the start of the movie, I was blown by the smooth graphics; the story is even better and unfolds the story behind the characters of Monsters Inc. I don't know if there is or not, but is there an Oozma Kappa member seen in the movie Monster Inc.?

When Dean Hardscrabble made an entrance, she automatically became my favorite monster. ^^

Meanwhile in DESPICABLE ME 2, this movie is a nice one, however I have to say, when comparing these 2 movies back-to-back, I have to say, Monsters U has an edge when it comes to the Graphics. Although the minions are cute and funny, that is not enough to make a great movie. Also the story line, in my point of view, I feel like the story is somewhat plain and simple, but the ending has a nice catch (I like the Minion music video)!

Man of Steel (2013)

Today I've we watched the man of steel this 13th of June.

Outstanding, that's what I can say. All the wait for this sequel has finally paid off. The graphics are all excellent, no cheesy green screen effects, fully loaded with breath taking fighting scenes and of course...Henry Cavill.

In this installment of Superman, I have observed that Lois Lane is no longer "the girl that always gets in trouble then superman helps her", bit instead, she became --well sort of normal type of woman.

Also, I've seen that this version of Man of Steel they didn't use his' weakness stone, the Kryptonite which is good, they've avoided the mainstream for once.

The Secret (2007)

Firstly, when I checked the movie at IMDB. I was intrigued by the Genre “Fantasy” for what I’ve watched this was just your typical Love Story movie so what gives? Let me start from the beginning. This movie The Secret, Original Story by Jay Chou is Chinese Classical Music themed movie with a Twist! That’ right, twist. And after watching the whole movie, I was like: " ... "

The Movie is indeed a marvel (to me) for I am a fan of Classical music. Jay Chou, the director of the movie and the main cast is indeed really talented to come up with such plot. Even though the entrance of the movie was like...not that appealing much. As the movie progresses I kind of get a hang of it. Some cheesy scenes with face poking, hugging and staring in the eyes really get into me.

Flypaper (2011)

The most Pathetic yet the most fascinating Bank Robbery I've ever seen! And yet I liked it for it. Very unique story, unpredictable plot...GREAT!
The moment the movie reel I thought that this movie is gonna suck and yes it did BUT tell you this, all the sudden events made my brains work and God, It's like a crime scene in my brain trying to point out who's the Mastermind. I love it, I really do, although the movie sucked on the first half, the second half that is where you're going to think what's really happening and tell you this, I made all the people suspects.

The movie is quite weird at the start and this guy Tripp is like an omniscient! What are you? Have you taken some pills from Limitless or something? Haha. This guy Tripp is really funny by the way.

Bottom line, Superb, remarkable movie. So if you want to have some Crime to solve, give this movie a try I bet you'll find this movie Great too!

The Change Up (2011)

Watching The Change Up was totally really really GREAT. TheChange Up by David Dobkin reminds me of the movie It’s a Boy and Girl Thing but of course, this one is truly fantastic.

A story of a workaholic man and a happy-go-lucky get t switch bodies and now they have to fix things through only to find themselves trapped on their dream bodies. --> I mean really? "Trapped?" in Ryan Reynold's body? I would really give a damn just to be in their position...ehem...ughh where was I, oh (got carried away), body-swapping comedies really doesn't fail to make me giggle and laugh hard.

I really enjoyed this movie, Loved it. The roles perfectly fits them both for I have always seen Jason Bateman in a serious, family guy type in movies and also Ryan Reynolds from a superhero, charismatic, carefree man on screen, they are both perfect for the character.

On film, I find it really good, although the movie uses a predictable storyline (if you watch body swapping films), I tell you this one will not fail to tickle your funny bones, I for one have totally enjoyed it.

Bottom line, it is been said, just perfect. it's not just a comedy movie, but a really great moving story too!

127 Hours (2010)

A Real Jubilant movie, considering that this is a True Story, 127 Hours is one of a crazy movie I've ever watched. God I swear that I am so amazed on him, doing extraordinary things just to survive and I tell you you wouldn't want to be in his place.

127 Hours is an autobiography of Aaron Raltson characterized by James Franco as an adventurous Mountain Climber and Canyoneer who got his arm stuck on a boulder for 127 Hours.

My thoughts on this movie is that at first, I thought this movie was like boring and stuff, but again, I''m wrong. This movie is TERRIBLY TERRIBLE, Sad and Dreadful in way that the movie is really really great. I can't just imagine myself being in that situation and by just thinking of makes me chill and create goosebumps; what happened to Aaron is really REALLY extreme.

Actually until now I couldn't take off Aaron out of my head, just thinking of him stuck in that place, alone and deserted makes me awe

Overall, I must say; this movie is a Top notch, well explained, well narrated in a convenient way, and its just plain perfect. Magnificent!

Comment, I totally love how the movie ends, I do wonder what happened to him after the accident?

Monte Carlo (2011)

Monte Carlo, as the title says, the movie took place there. I totally love the movie, not only because Selena was the main character but also because I totally love the the environment, the place, the ambiance, the spirit, its so authentic, so great. Monte Carlo made me giggle most of the time I just don't know why. Everything was great, well polished, AWESOME!
"Superb, funny, exciting, overall I just have to say the this one is the BEST Chick flick movie I've seen."
Bottom line, the movie is I don't want to repeat my self but here it is, the movie great, and if you like chick flicks, you'll totally enjoy this movie like I do. And after watching this movie, I thought of hmmm, what If I go to Monte Carlo too? And maybe find a spoiled heir that looks like me too! HAHA! Okay dream on. Also, for some reason, this movie reminds me Mr. Bean's Holiday, funny for there are resemblances.

That's What I am (2011)

That's What I am by Michael Pavone is a Coming of Age movie...that's what they say it is in which I can just simply say that this one is a Drama by which I shouldn't be watching but I've watched it anyway. That's What i am Features a life of a teenage boy making his way throughout eighth grade. This movie kind of resembles Diary of a Wimpy Kid but not really, this movie is more serious.

The movie amuses in a sense that I've learned something about what an American Kid would be like as a Kid et cetera. This movie offers three story overall, the story of Mr. Simon, Stanley and Andy, by which Mr. Simon's story is a little...you know, frustrating in a sense that the parents are being sexist by which it drives me nuts and by the way why is Randy Orton on the movie?

Overall, the movie was great, I actually do not know how to rate this but I think I'll just give it a four...no five, damn it! Hehe like I said, movies like these are not actually not my type but hey, This movie is great I think you should watch this...sort of. By the way, I happen to like the story and the outcome, t'was nice. The movie is not based on true story but the lessons are meaningful. I somehow find this movie somewhat sad for how junior kids faces their everyday living as a student, bullying and stuff but hey I think those bullying stuffs what makes Middle school exciting right?....right?

Bad Teacher (2011)

Bad teacher is a comedy film starring Cameron Diaz as a foul mouthed teacher or should I say Evil huh? Anyways, this movie circles on Elizabeth Hasley, dumped by her "money bag" she now faces new challenges --to sustain her own living.

Now, Elizabeth now must find a new sugar dad in which Scott Delacorte (Justin Timberlake) a wealthy, smart and handsome and wealthy again appeared and this time she has to woo Scott into her own money bag. Typical story.

Anyhow, the movie is good I tell you really worth a watch and it was really funny. In my opinion this movie was like a so-so movie, not too shabby not too grand jut fine. I like everything in the movie except for the entry part( the teachers part slide show) and the rest is fine.

I really liked the evil, mischievous Cameron Diaz here, also the drug part where Ms. Squirrel was imprisoned due to false accusation which I really find really evil and cunning of her.
Overall it was nice, watchable and yeah, I enjoyed it, really enjoyed some good laugh. I guess I have to give this a 5 star rating, even though the movie have not much perks it somehow made me entertained so...5 stars.

I Am Number Four (2011)

I Am Number Four directed by D.J. Caruso is a kind of movie I've always liked. Like the Movies Push and Jumper, this one has a vivid Story line too. Actually, there is no doubt that this movie will go away in the screen very shortly, a sequel is highly expected; I mean who wouldn't enjoy such movie? (Being bias am I?)

I totally liked this movie, the special effects, fight scenes everything! Well what more can we ask from the director of Smallville himself huh? Superman HA!

Overall, (that's it?) Well, you see, I cannot elucidate to you clearly how rejoiced I am after the movie, as if its really refreshing you know that? the feeling of "Oohh, another nice movie"  Clearly, I amazed at everything, so 5 stars and by the way, I really DO wait for the sequel!

By the way, you see the girl on John's left? I thought she was the twilight girl. Hehe, funny stuff. She looks hot on the motorcycle though.

Crazy Stupid Love (2011)

First off, AWESOME! Superb, really! Crazy, Stupid Love is a comedy drama movie directed by Glenn Ficara and John Requa. Gosh, I've never anticipated this coming that this movie would be this good. A combination of serious drama and witty comedy often falls to the comedy most of the part but this one is just in the middle you know. It's funny in a way that its serious and that's what I liked in the movie and to tel you, I am really amazed on how the movie turned out.

At first I wasn't expecting much drama in this movie for I know Steve Carell for his Comedy Acts on Saturday Night Live! and The Office but hey, I'd tell you this movie is real good. What I like more int his movie are the casts I just love how Ryan Gosling being an eye-candy, and also Emma Stone, they're both sexy.

In the story, I thought first, maybe the story is like Horrible Bosses for the movie films 3 different people in 3 different worlds (I mean they have their own story) like Jacob, Cal and Hannah and yes they are connected. I also happen to love the sequencing of the movie, and I'm also telling that you will be never be left blanked. Never a dull moment in this movie.

Bottom line....5 stars! This is an excellent movie! I really doubt that you will find this movie bad or something like that but then again, I recommend this movie to be watched by you! I know you'll just love this.

Movie Trinkets!

"F*ck! Seriously?! It's like you're Photoshopped! Lemme Touch it."
Oh, lookie here! Local Star John Lloyd Cruz is in the movie?! (Man on the Left)

Horrible Bosses (2011)

After 3 years of waiting Seth Gordon had finally released another blockbuster film: Horrible BossesHorrible Bosses features Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis in a Comedy movie featuring 3 best friends plot to kill the only obstruction to their "happy" life. Their Horrible Bosses.

Gosh, I', totally cranked up in this movie, there is no scene they left me hanged and better yet, they all kept me at the edge of my seat, laughing. Overall the movie was A-Okay, no complaints whatsoever,

I've personally chose this movie poster because for me, I'd love the Charlie Day and Jennifer Aniston scenario, I mean, Charlie day's funny role really suits him well and I kinda loved his voice, it cute & funny, a nice asset in a comedy film and Jennifer's serious slutty role really suits her good (no puns intended) as if it came to her naturally (just joking, I just meant that the whole slutty thing was so believable, it really hit me!). By the way, both of them, together, I think they're Hot!

As for the technical part, what can I say, this movie have it all. Nice introduction, nice flow, nice story line, nice timing. I really doubt it that you'll get bored watching this movie for I have enjoyed it really well! Its really entertaining too! I liked the Atmanand guy, I think he sounded just like the older version of Baljeet in Phineas and Ferb. Also, I really loved the introduction part, as if each of them have their own story at first and when all things crammed up into one place you'l notice that: "Hey, they have the same Problems after all!"

Bottom line, whoohoo 5 stars! I couldn't ask for more, really funny, really entertaining, just real goodie! I really recommend that you watch this one.

Thor (2011)

I've always been so enthralled whenever I hear that there is a movie featuring a magical world stuff genre and Chris Hemsworth as Thor is here to satisfy your Mythological hunger!

Thor 2011 directed by Kenneth Banagh and Joss Whedon is a truly magnificent film, and I tell you, if you ever had a chance to watch this I say DO IT! I mean it! This movie is so good it got me all hyped up to write this review and i don't even know where to start!

Thor features the journey of Thor himself traversing the world of we mortals live in, Earth; due to the actions of his "brother" he was exiled to the mortal world. Soon found himself left and abandoned on Earth he was not only bumped once but twice by Jane Foster, an astro-physicist who helped Thor get back into Asgard his home world.

I've always loved this kind of stuff, especially because the special effects used are not too shabby, in fact, its truly magnificent and I can say its a job well done!

I will highly recommend this movie to my friends to watch this.

Stake Land (2010)

Stake Land directed by Jim Mickle is one heck of a movie that I love. Aside from Zombies, Vampires are also one of my likes (well they look zombies to me!). I totally liked this movie for this movie features the survival of normal people without any military help against Vampires, which makes this movie thrilling and exciting.

This movie took place at a post-apocalyptic war where vampires roam to kill Humans. Actually one more thing I love about this movie is the "cult" in this movie, it really added some twist in the movie; its like watching The Road, 28 days later and Book of Eli.

The movie itself is filled with thrill, action and a pinch of drama. One more thing, I'm really confused at the end for Mister left without any word...why is that? Also I'm kinda disappointed yet excited for the ending. The ending left me hanging BUT also left me excited for I know that there will be a sequel to this one.

I really do hope that the sequel will be done soon and I'll be rooting for it. And for the bottom line, Magnificent no goofs and stuff, highly polished and the narration was good truly added more spice in the movie. 5 stars.

Oh yeah, before I forgot, I wonder why did Jebediah Loven Resurrected as a high level vampire --that can talk? How did it happened?

Bridesmaids (2011)

From the producer of Superbad, Knocked-up and The 40 Year-old Virgin, Paul Feig made an amazing comeback film named Bridesmaids. A Humorous romantic disaster (not so really...kind of) movie about...Bridesmaids!

This movie is indeed a remarkable one. This 136 minute movie took like 2 and a half hours or something more in me but it didn't lag, all the scenes are nice and clear although some sex scenes are funny for me I just wished that I have watched the rated version. Like I said, the movie is great; totally fun and nice, all was crazy at first and had couple of laugh and actually while watching this I feel kinda awkward in some scenes like I was the one being humiliated in her shoes and I was like in my seat:

"Oh my God...Oh shit...God! What?!"

Okay so that's how it goes, the movie is catchy you know? I liked it, I liked the whole stuff, as if this movie was like 2 hours or more because there are a lot of places they shot the film --in short they made this movie all packed in like a canned spam.
Okay, there are also some scenes that somehow left all the other cast disappear like Rita and Becca which I think last saw them was in at the plane kissing each other and by the way why did they kissed?

Bottom line, 5-star for this great movie. I would really recommend this one t my friends. Another thing, I just love how Kristen Wiig acts, its so...Saturday Night live-ish Loved it

The American Pie (1999)

The American Pie, directed by Paul Weitz, is a raunchy teen comedy movie about 4 teenage guys making a pact of losing their virginity before the night of the Prom. Don't mistake my word for "raunchy" for this movie is not all about sex, although some (most) scenes offer you some kissing and kissing, the storyline and the plot is good too!

The movie is indeed great although dated (well its a 1999 movie)  the movie will not let you down.

"The movie is RIDICULOUSLY FUNNY!"

I will certainly gonna watch the sequels of this ALL OF IT! I simply just love how the director made this movie so polished you will not even be bored and I barely see the goof in Finch's microphone being sen while he's running towards the rest room.

Bottom line, AWESOME. The scenes are really exciting, you wouldn't know what's next. About Chuck Sherman, his role reminds me of the role of Emma Stone on Easy A about the rumors and stuff, just seen some similarities though.

Although American Pie might seem just a hook-up movie, I'd seem to find a lesson (ugh lessons?!) in this one and its that about taking relationship(s) seriously. NOW LAUGH ALL YOU WANT I know its corny hahaha.

One more thing about Michelle that left me clouded, is she bipolar? How come she acted differently when the time she and Jim hooked up?

This scenario really confuses me, this is the scene where Jim's dad was telling him about masturbation. I don't even know how did Masturbation made its way by just looking at the family portrait.

Hot Fuzz (2007)

Once again, the duo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost never ceased to amuse me. Hot Fuzz is  a comedy action-filled police themed movie directed by Edgar Wright.

"Their duo is ultimately FANTASTIC! This movie is SERIOUSLY FUNNY!"

Since this is a comedy film, I could not stop laughing at some scenes like the Romeo & Juliet, Fruit Assassins just to name a few.

Hot Fuzz is a story of a uber-talented Policeman-Officer (-Danny said), Nicholas who is sent on a remote village to become the Sergeant as his "Promotion" well, you kinda feel reading the whole plot here cause I ain't have much time tellin' the story am I? Or just simply watch it and have a good laugh! Read here.

In this movie I've seen lots of stuffs like shotgun proof plank and unbreakable mall glass sorta...thingie. Well, what ever it is called I tell you you'll laugh at it. I like the Ketchup scenes too...

Altogether this one is a marvelous film to watch regardless of age will LOVE this!

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief is an action fantasy movie about a boy discovering that he is no ordinary child but instead, he discovers that he is a descendant of a God. Greek God! But one problem lies, Percy, son of Poseidon was accused of stealing the Master Bolt of Zeus and demands of its return before the Summer Solstice arrive or a war would engage and the battlefield will the Earth...

The movie is based on the book Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan. A really great movie without missing the core parts of the story from the book.  The special effects are just spectacular, highly polished magical effects but the sword fight is just not too realistic but then again the fast paced story and good deliberation of roles covered them real good that you wouldn't even notice it.
