Are you frustrated seeing your electricity bills go sky rocket? Fret no more! In today's issue, I'll share with you some nifty simple tips on how to lower your electric bills.

Turning off an appliance (Television, Air conditioner, Electric fan, Dishwasher etc.) is good but didn't you know that even if you turn it off it will still suck up energy? Digital displays, standby lights and sensors are the most common to suck energy even when turned off. These standby lights are called energy phantoms or phantom load.

1. Unplug it. Appliances like TVs, DVDs, etc. sucks energy even when turned off by powering it's remote sensor and standby lights which is you will not need once you leave your home.

2. Invest for an energy regulator instead on a regular extension. Energy regulator extension will only deliver electricity on a used port unlike in a regular extension, it absorbs electricity continuously even on an unused port.

3. Also, one way for you to save additional electrical expenses is to be conscious about it. Purchase a Digital electric meter which calculates you electrical usage and your current electric bill. Real-time!

4. If you d your Laundry, only do it once a week or two or better yet send your Laundry to a Laundromat/laundry shop. in this way, you can not only save money but also time from cleaning! But it cannot be helped and still prefer to do your own laundry, look for a washing machine that uses less energy but still can clean good. and --

5. When ironing your clothes, it is best to unplug the iron before your last 1 or 2 clothes. You can still iron your clothes with the accumulated heat inside the iron thus saving you energy.

Trivia: Didn't you know that 1 hour using a Flat iron is equivalent to using 60 hours of light bulb?

6. In charging your gadgets, keep an eye on it; do not leave your cellphone plugged even when its full because it will still suck energy. Unplug your phone AND the charger.

By unplugging unused appliances, you can save as much as 5% on your monthly bill! So unplug now!
