A Lucid Nightmare

A Lucid Dream is any dream in which one is aware that one is dreaming...

4th of January around 1-3 in the morning I just had my First Lucid Nightmare, Lucid Dreaming + Nightmare. At first, just thinking of the whole scenario was really terrifying and scary, the whole place was set on pre-dawn time and all the street lamps are lit and sky was dark blue-ish with some swirly cloud figures and such, it's kind of cartooned sorta.... At first I didn't know I was dreaming so just follow everything.

Attack the Block (2011)

Attack the Block. Seriously? From the Director of Shaun of the Dead? Well, to tell you people directly, I basically didn't like the movie that much and why did all these things coming down from the sky? For the movie poster, I got all hyped up the moment I saw the poster it was like, matrix, sci-fi outer space movie like Inception or Sunshine but ITS NOT.

I was totally bored the entire movie and actually the movie is not so really entertaining. And I rather watch Ben 10 to see these creatures in action...huh? So these creatures are not from Ben 10?

Bottom line, I've expected too much from this movie. The movie leaves me questions in the end. The movie ended prematurely and was that even an ending? Its more like a cut then bang the end no sign of happy or bad ending as if you're withdrawing at the moment of the climax, get the picture? Also, the Gangs and stuffs put me off the movie completely.

Super 8 (2011)

Super 8 by  J.J. Abrahams was nice, watchable and my first thought regarding this movie before the movie starts rolling is that (also what I expect) this movie will be like Push or Jumper or something that includes people with supernatural powers and subdue the evil forces thingy, and to tell you that even though I've watched the credit rolls I'm still waiting for that stuff.

The movie Super 8 was nice, real good but it quite become noticeable that the lighting is glaring most of the scenes being take and I think its a bad part for the filming. Also the Title itself, I thought Super 8 was kinda like Fantastic 4 etc. from which that was what I expected from the title. The word super implies psychic or mutants to me, but anyhow, the movie is watchable even though it kinda disappoints me the movie is all worth it anyway.

Overall it was nice, liked it but the introduction of the movie is kind of laggy, I was left bored but as the movie progressed, then again is worth it.

By the way, I kind of like the Zombie part and tell you, the Zombie movie they're making is entitled with the same name! Now I get it! (But still, they're not 8, they're just 6...weird)

War of the Worlds (2005)

War of the Worlds by Steven Spielberg is sure a fired up movie of the year, well at least that's how it goes. Well, the movie is nice to great. The story is unique I can hardly tell any movie with the same storyline (well Scary Movie 4 has the same plot as War of the World!).

The movie is about a family having a typical Sunday morning not lest they know that their typical Sunday morning will be like hiding and surviving hordes of alien invaders! Everything is nice and watchable but nothing too grand. Of course the movie didn't bore me much but some scenes are quite laggy but the climax did make it well so I'll let the criticism pass.

As I have seen the movie, well actually ti's not that I didn't like the movie it is just that I've watched the Parody movie first before the original so I kinda seen the movie at all as if I've watched this before but then again watching this makes real total difference.

As I carefully watched the movie *I think* there are some movie goofs or technicalities in this movie I'm not sure so I'll let you judge the movie itself so here's the shots:

First thing, this one is actually not a goof but rather ugh, you know, how could an earthquake being torn asunder in a half flawlessly I mean look, the church is like made from Papier mâché! No crumbling, no...its really like a paper being torn to me...its unrealistic  though.

This one here I don't know, he's taking a video of the alien tripod where is i can tell you for I have heard directly from the citizens that "everything" stopped from functioning even a wrist watch that Ray have! (The car starts though for they managed to change some parts of the car but hey how about the video cam?)
Okay in this one is like magic. When Ray thew his peanut butter sandwich on the window look at the bread. Why is it sticking outside the window?

Bottom line , I'll give this 4 star. Its really a great movie! Nice to watch. Nice acting and nice settings. If you want an alien flick give this a try, you'll probably love this.

*Updated* I've found out that the bread scene with Ray was his reflection throwing the bread onto the camera. Sheez i really thought that the bread actually passed through the other side of the window ha-ha.

The Signs (2002)

The Signs is a 2002 mystery, sci-fi, thriller movie by M. Night Shyamalan (Manoj Nelliyattu Shyamalan). The movie covers most about teh ruckus of Aliens taking over the planet harvests us causing Graham's faith as a Reverend to test.

Like in my previous blogs, I've always put a comment on how the movie progresses, is it slow? fast? boring? Well on this one I think its just...meh. I found it in the end that the scenes are all connected and gives important information in the end so I'd say its just fine.

I like the concept of Aliens trying to get hold on Earth but some things are just ain't right for me for some things as well are left unanswered and just simply skipped.

The movie is great oh yes but then again some scenes are somehow far strayed off, (my opinion) I think the death of Graham's wife has really nothing to do with the story though she does says something about he last message to her family especially the "Tell Merill to swing away" part where Merill killed the Alien by batting it on and off and throwing some water onto its face; which reminds me of this part in the end which really boggles me, what was the Alien's purpose on landing on Earth? It wasn't stated in the movie as well as the Veterinarian Rey Reddy's (hey he's the director!) purpose. He only did is to trap the Alien behind his Pantry door and the rest is like poof! I didn't even know if he survived or not? Also in at the ending where the Alien sprayed this "mist" on Morgan, was it a healing spray of a poison gas (okay, since Morgan was alive speaking I assume it is a Healing spray)? If it is, why did the Alien did that? What is with Bo's strange premonitions? At the ending itself, it was infilling, it feels nothing as if I were cut down in the middle of a climax? i must say the movie ended badly how  wished they sum all things up and give better ending like saying "every one's okay!" or some sort.

Bottom line, the movie is watchable. You see the movie poster is really catchy so I had a very high expectation on it like Human-Alien encounter-combat  and hordes of them but nah. A real eye-candy though.
